If you choose to have your baby at another hospital, you can still transfer to Birthcare for your postnatal stay.
Each woman is different but if you’ve had a normal vaginal birth you can expect to transfer within 3 to 5 hours.
If you’ve had a caesarean section it can be longer but usually within 24 to 48 hours. When you are ready to transfer, staff at the hospital will contact Birthcare and let us know.
