At Birthcare Auckland, we know the first few days after your baby’s arrival are precious. Our postnatal rooms are designed to support your rest, healing, and bonding with your baby in comfort and peace.
Whether you’re transferring from another maternity hospital or staying with us after birth, our friendly team is here to support you every step of the way.
We offer a variety of postnatal rooms to suit your needs — from cosy shared spaces to spacious premium rooms where partners are welcome to stay overnight.
No charge (up to 2 nights)
Standard rooms have two single beds, an ensuite bathroom and a telephone at each bedside to contact your midwife.
Rooms are twin share so you may be sharing with another mother. We have 22 shared rooms.
Partly funded (up to 3 nights)
If you birth at Birthcare you’ll be given a Private Room. This is dependent on availability. Partners are welcome to stay at no additional charge in our private postnatal rooms. However, additional meals will incur charges.
Our private rooms consist of a single bed. We welcome a partner or support person to stay with you in our private room, and will be provided with a fold out bed for the room.
Private rooms have an ensuite bathroom with a single bed, flat screen TV, and a telephone (to contact your midwife). We have 17 private rooms.
Partly funded (up to 3 nights)
Our larger sized Premium rooms have an ensuite bathroom with a queen size bed, flat screen TV, a telephone (to contact your midwife) and complimentary chocolates and sparkling water. We have 4 premium rooms.
Partners are welcome to stay with you at no additional charge in our premium postnatal rooms. However extra meals will incur charges.
Fold down beds are available on request for partners who wish to stay over in the Private Rooms. Your partner can stay with you in one of our private premium rooms at no additional charge. For full pricing information on our postnatal rooms see our Birthcare Auckland costs page.
