Meet Maria Rocard – Lactation Consultant | Midwife | Naturopath

With over 30 years’ experience supporting mothers and babies, Maria brings a calm, practical, and deeply informed approach to every consultation.

Originally trained as a midwife, Maria has specialised in lactation consulting for the past 14 years and is internationally qualified (IBCLC). Her additional training as a naturopath allows her to provide holistic, personalised care tailored to each whānau.

Maria has worked across public hospitals, community services, and private practice, and now proudly supports families at Birthcare. As a mother herself, she understands firsthand the realities of early parenthood and focuses on helping you feel confident, supported, and reassured.

Availability

You’ll be supported every day by our experienced midwives and nurses, who are here to guide you through feeding and early parenting. For more complex situations, Lactation Consultant support is available at scheduled times.
