Transferring to Birthcare

How soon can I transfer?

Even if you choose to have your baby at another hospital, you can still transfer to Birthcare for your postnatal stay.

If you’ve had a straightforward vaginal birth, you can usually expect to transfer to Birthcare within 3-5 hours after the birth.

If you’ve had a caesarean section, your transfer may take a little longer, typically 24-48 hours, depending on your recovery. Once you’re ready, the hospital team will contact Birthcare to arrange your transfer.

If you have any questions about transferring to Birthcare, our team is here to help.
