Birthing at Birthcare Auckland

At Birthcare Auckland we offer a beautiful, calm and supportive space for you to birth and care for your baby. We can also support you with finding a midwife, booking an antenatal class, or booking one of our relaxing rooms for your postnatal stay.

We provide excellent 24 hour care and support for new mums, dads and their babies. Our aim is to make your birth experience the best it can be. We offer flexible choices so you can decide what suits you best.

If you birth at Birthcare Auckland you’ll be given a private room wherever possible. If you choose to have your baby at another hospital, you can still transfer to us for your postnatal stay.

Birthcare provides medical and general baby supplies (pain relief, sanitary pads, disposable nappies and wipes) all of which are included as part of our service.

If you are planning on using cloth nappies, bring two with you for a folding demonstration. Please ensure you have some woolen items, especially if you are transferring from Auckland Hospital, and also for when you are discharged home.

Please note: Babies must always travel in a car seat. It’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with how to safely use your car seat as per manufacturers instruction before baby is born.

Infant Feeding Birthcare provides everything that is required for breastfeeding and we are here to support and encourage you. If you are not planning on breast feeding, please bring with you the formula, bottles and teats you will be using at home.

N.B. Infant formula is available if required for medical reasons only.
